Since its opening in 1930, BSTU has been dedicated to finding solutions to big challenges and to preparing students for leadership in a complex world.

The Chemical Engineering degree at the department TPS&PMP is a passport to many challenging careers. The undergraduate experience includes course work, independent research experience and a host of departmental activities.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Web Page of The Department of Technology of Petrochemical Synthesis and Polymer Materials Processing, Faculty Organic Substances Technology. The department was formed in 1996 by reorganization of the Department of Plastics and Elastomer Technology Processing.

We offer Chemical Engineering at undergraduate level. The programme has been designed to provide the students with the basic knowledge required in chemical engineering apart from in depth studies in polymer engineering.

The department also offers Msc (master of science) and PhD in Polymer Engineering by research and MSc Course in Polymer Technology at postgraduate levels.

Currently, the department has 25 academic staffs (5 Professor, 11 Associate Professors, 3 Senior Lecturers,  4 Lecturer and 2 Tutors) who actively engaged in teaching, research and consultation. In research, academic staff is actively involved in eight priority areas namely, petrochemical synthesis, paintwork materials, rubber  and polymer technology, nanocomposites etc. Most of our research is being funded by research grants from government and industrial sectors. Our academic staffs are also actively involved in consulting works with government and industrial sector.
